Higgins Digital is committed to making higginsd.com usable for as many people as possible, including people who rely on assistive technology. We treat accessibility as an ongoing practice, not a one-time checkbox.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines are the widely accepted standard for making web content more perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust.

What we do

• Use real semantic markup, with proper buttons, links, headings, and labeled form fields.
• Keep the whole site operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline on interactive elements.
• Provide a skip-to-content link so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
• Respect the reduced motion setting in your operating system. When it is on, we turn off animated backgrounds and scroll effects and show content in its final state.
• Mark decorative canvases and graphics as hidden from screen readers, and write alt text for meaningful images.
• Design for readable color contrast, and offer a free contrast checker in our tools library.
• Build responsive layouts that adapt from large desktops down to small phones without loss of content.

Known limitations

We are honest about the fact that no site is ever perfectly accessible. Some third-party embeds and richly animated sections may not yet meet every criterion. We review and improve these areas over time, and we prioritize fixes that affect real use.
